Prayer
"Listen to what the Spirit is saying."
We turn our hearts and minds to the people of the Yorta Yorta nation, who have occupied this country for thousands of years.
We pay respects to their Elders, past, present and emerging, and commit to walking alongside Aboriginal Australians in truth and justice.
(NAIDOC Week ~ 6th-13th July)
God of all wonder,
We pause in the busyness of our days to listen deeply to the wisdom of this land and those who belong to it.
May our minds be open to dialogue,
May our hearts be open to transformation and
May our hands do the work of reconciliation.
We ask that the Spirit accompany us on our journey of healing on these lands, seas and waterways; We also ask the Spirit of peace be with all those who are living a life of fear, dispossession and distress. We make this prayer in the name of Jesus our brother and friend.
God of all creation, as we journey together in this
Great Southern Land,
We pray for healing, forgiveness, and unity,
Creating a path of good will, with justice and compassion.
Jesus, through the power of your love,
You have given us the courage, wisdom, and strength
To share our gifts and talents in humility.
In peace and understanding we reconcile with each other.
Creator Spirit, we come together in prayer and thanksgiving
For the many blessings we have received.
Allow your Spirit to wash over us and give us strength to walk together as one.
Amen.
Pope Leo XIV's Prayer to the Sacred Heart of Jesus
(Friday June 27 is the Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus)
Lord, I come to your tender heart today, to you who have words that set my heart ablaze, to you who pour out compassion on the little ones and the poor, on those who suffer, and on all human miseries.
I desire to know you more, to contemplate you in the Gospel, to be with you and learn from you and from the charity with which you allowed yourself to be touched by all forms of poverty.
You showed us the Father’s love by loving us without measure with your divine and human heart.
Grant all your children the grace of encountering you. Change, shape, and transform our plans, so that we seek only you in every circumstance: in prayer, in work, in encounters, and in our daily routine.
From this encounter, send us out on mission, a mission of compassion for the world in which you are the source from which all consolation flows.
Amen.
Sacred Heart of Jesus, have mercy on us! ❤️🔥
Holy Family of Nazareth, be our inspiration and our guide.
Jesus of Nazareth, help us to grow in Faith, Wisdom and Knowledge
Father in heaven,
may the faith you have given us
in your son, Jesus Christ, our brother,
and the flame of charity enkindled
in our hearts by the Holy Spirit,
reawaken in us the blessed hope
for the coming of your Kingdom.
May your grace transform us
into tireless cultivators of the seeds of the Gospel.
May those seeds transform from within both humanity and the whole cosmos
in the sure expectation
of a new heaven and a new earth,
when, with the powers of Evil vanquished,
your glory will shine eternally.
May the grace of the Jubilee
reawaken in us, Pilgrims of Hope,
a yearning for the treasures of heaven.
May that same grace spread
the joy and peace of our Redeemer
throughout the earth.
To you our God, eternally blessed,
be glory and praise for ever.
Amen
As we anticipate the year ahead, we are all invited along for the journey. No one is left out, left behind or not included. Can you imagine the incredible opportunities that lie ahead? Can you sense how much you will learn, grow and contribute to the lives of others this year?
As pilgrims, we are privileged to walk the same journey as Jesus did thousands of years ago. He brought hope and light to those who others ignored or brushed aside. Jesus took great risks to ground his pilgrimage in God’s love. This became his centre, his guide and his compass. This year, we are all called to journey towards the light that we experience in his presence and God’s promise of equity, justice and compassion.
How can you be a pilgrim who brings hope to others this year?
