Principal's Report

2024 Annual Report

Each year, all public, high and central schools must publish an an annual report for the previous year.  The Uralla Central School Annual Report is now available from our website for those members of our community who wish to have a look. You will find the report under the link "About Our School" and then "School Planning and Reporting".

An Evening with ACOS - Thursday 28 August

Plans are well underway for this year's An Evening with ACOS (ACOS = Armidale Community of Schools) where some of our students will be involved in our primary or secondary performance, the ACOS Choir and ACOS Orchestra.   An Evening with ACOS is a combined public education event held every two years to celebrate the creative arts in our local schools.  All public schools in Armidale, Rocky River and Uralla are involved in the event which will culminate in a spectacular on Thursday 28 August from 6pm at Armidale Secondary College. We will provide more information soon. We are very excited to be a part of this brilliant event once again.

Arriving at School Each Morning

A reminder to parents that teachers are not on-duty until 8.50am each morning. There are a small number of students arriving at school before 8am putting them in an unsafe situation. Please ensure your children are not arriving at school too early.  Thank you for your help with this.

Preliminary Exams

I wish all of our Academy (Years 11 and 12) students the very best as they complete their preliminary exams next week. All the best everyone!

Parent/Teacher Meetings

We will hold parent/teacher meetings on Monday 31 March (Week 10) from 3.30pm-5.30pm and at various times throughout that week. If parents are unable to come along during the afternoon, we invite you to make an alternate time to meet with your child's teacher(s) during Week 10.  The purpose of the meeting is to provide you with an update on their progress so far this year and to answer any questions you may have.  You are always most welcome to contact the school to discuss any aspect of your child's learning. Primary teachers will meet in their classrooms while secondary staff will be in the hall.

From 5.30pm-6.30pm, the P&C will be providing a sausage sizzle so parents can meet and greet our staff. We hope you can join us!

School Photo Day - Next Tuesday 25 March

All students should have taken home school photo order packs. If you wish to order photos, please complete the information required before school photo day, on Tuesday. Just a reminder that FULL SCHOOL UNIFORM is required for school photos.

North West Swimming - New Dates

Year 12 Captains at NSW Parliament House

I have had the pleasure in taking our Year 12 Captains, Imogen and Connor, as well as the Captains from Armidale Secondary College, to the NSW Parliament House in Sydney today. Our students are joining other captains from across NSW to learn about leadership and how our democratic processes work.  Our students have met with the Governor of NSW along with Members of Parliament. I thank our Student Support Officer, Michelle Koina for assisting me with the short excursion and I thank our leaders for representing our school at such a prestigious event.

Foodbank Donations

We are so fortunate to be a part of the Foodbank program which supplies us with goods to use at our breakfast club each day. Breakfast is available to students each day from 8.30am until 8.50am, manned by staff who volunteer their time to manage this. Foodbank has also provided us with a number of take away breakfast packs for students to take home.  We have started to distribute a small number of these each day.  I would like to thank the Foodbank program for their generous donations, supporting our students and our school.

Assembly - Tuesday 1 April @ 10am

Our next assembly will be held on Tuesday 1 April from 10am.  As always, everyone is welcome to come along and join us.

Easter Hat Parade

We will hold our annual Easter Hat Parade in the hall on Thursday 10 April from 10am. Students K-6 will have time to create a hat at school to show (if they wish). We will also be welcoming students from the Uralla Pre School and TG's Child Care as well. Parents are most welcome to come along and join us!
