OPPS Positive Behaviour Expectations

At our school, we are proud to promote positive behaviour through our OPPS values: Respect, Responsibility, Resilience, and Safety.

These values help students develop important life skills such as listening to others, taking ownership of their learning, persevering when things are challenging, and making safe choices at school.

The Positive Behaviour Expectations are embedded in our Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) program. We encourage our students to demonstrate our expectations every day. These expectations help set the foundation for learning by supporting students to understand how to interact positively with others, manage their emotions, and contribute to a safe and supportive classroom environment.

We have worked closely with students to gather student voice about what helps them understand and follow our school expectations. As a result, the expectations have been simplified and made more student-friendly, using clear language and examples that are easy for children to understand and apply in their daily school life.

We are excited to continue building a positive school culture together where our OPPS values help every student learn, feel safe, and thrive.
