IPSHA Year 6 Basketball Carnival
Last week, Thursday 27 March, selected Year 6 students had the exciting opportunity to participate in the IPSHA Basketball Carnival of 2025. Both teams played extremely well and tried their best. We had an amazing day where everyone got a chance to play in seven games and in which both the girls’ and boys’ teams won every single game! From the start of the day to the end, all players showed their best effort and sportsmanship, and it all paid off! We want to say a big thank you to our coaches Luc and Lyndon, our teachers Ms Johnston and Ms McKinlay, and of course, Mr Howson, for making this experience happen!

Early Childhood Grandparents Morning
A flurry of excitement ran through the Early Childhood Centre on last Friday 28 March: it was Grandparents and Special Friends' Morning!
Year 2 students met the special visitors as they arrived on the campus and guided them to the Lower Theatre. The visitors were formally welcomed to the College by Mr Christie (Acting Director of Junior School) who emphasised the importance of extended family members to the raising of happy healthy children. After a blessing by Reverend Liz (College Chaplain) all the Year 2 Students sang two songs of welcome, one in Noongar (our local Aboriginal language) and the other in French (a language spoken by some children in the year level).
Afterwards, the grandparents and special visitors spilled out into the Early Learning Centre classrooms, filling them with joy, laughter and a hum of contented conversations and shared activities. Visitors to Year 1 were interviewed by the children to find out information about how life was in the past when they were at school. These interviews are provocations for the children to inquire further into how times change. The Kindergarten, Pre-Primary and Year 1 children sang greeting songs to their visitors in a home language of children in their year level, which extended their understanding of their world.
The grandparents and special friends were treated with light refreshments in the tranquillity of the Lower Theatre and lawn area after their busy morning. A great sense of wellbeing was created by having spent time with loved ones!

Melodies in the Amphitheatre - Junior School Music Recital
It is always a pleasure to come together and celebrate the talented musicians we have in the All Saints' College Junior School. We welcomed parents and family to our reimagined Junior School Music Recital, called ‘Melodies in the Amphitheatre’, on Tuesday 25 March and students performed beautifully, despite the hot weather. We look forward to making use of this lovely outdoor space in the future.
