As we approach the end of the term, it’s valuable to pause and reflect on the learning journey so far. At All Saints’ College, we encourage students to develop 'agency in learning' by actively engaging in reflective practice—assessing their progress, recognising achievements, and identifying areas for growth.
Reflection is a powerful tool for deep learning. In the classroom, students are encouraged to think about what strategies have worked well, what challenges they have faced, and how they can continue to improve. This process not only strengthens their understanding but also builds self-awareness and a sense of ownership over their learning.
Parents can support this by having conversations at home that encourage reflection—asking questions like; “What are you proud of this term?” or “What’s something you want to improve next term?” These discussions help students develop resilience, celebrate progress, and set meaningful goals for the future.
We are incredibly proud of the hard work and growth our students have demonstrated this term, and we look forward to another exciting stage of learning ahead.
The OLNA is an online literacy and numeracy assessment. It is designed to enable students to successfully meet the Western Australian Certificate of Education (WACE) requirement of demonstrating the minimum standard of literacy and numeracy.
Students who have achieved the required standard in the three components of reading, writing and numeracy in their Year 9 NAPLAN* are acknowledged as having demonstrated proficiency in using a range of ACSF Level 3 skills in that component, and will not be required to sit the corresponding OLNA component.
Year 11, 12 and select Year 10 students who have not met the minimum standard will be required to sit the OLNA Round 1 test. Relevant parents/guardians will receive information via email at the end of this term. OLNA Information for Parents/Carers brochure is available online HERE
