Principal's Report

The term is flying by and will be gone before we know it. Next week the 3-6s head on their City Camp and the following we have a week of swimming for the whole school. On camp week, we wont have an assembly at school. Our next assembly will be on the last day of term. 

There's been lots to celebrate over the past fortnight, in particular a big highlight last week of our Bullying No Way week. At NPS we say no to bullying and the incredible daily conversations that went on in classrooms were something special to hear. I loved the reflection by Alisha and Charli at assembly on Friday highlighting that we all have the power to stand up. I'm really proud of the culture we have here at NPS when it comes to how we treat others, it's an important celebration for us. 

It's almost time for our toilet upgrades to begin. We have an upcoming meeting then things will get moving. This means the toilets will be out of action for a period of time, we'll all be using the staff toilets near the office. We're all looking forward to seeing the new additions when complete. 

ATTITUDE TO SCHOOL SURVEY

Our 4-6 students completed their attitude to school survey results a while back, I jsut wanted to highlight some of the results. While these represent years 4-6, we also do a termly whole school survey of our own which supoprts these results. Some highlights include:

• 100% said that teachers believe that they can do well at school
• 92 % said they thought they are good at learning'
• 100% said their teacher tells them what they're learning and why

FATHERS DAY MORNING TEA

Please join us for a Fathers Day breakfast on Monday the 7th September from 8:30-9:30am for some activities in the classroom and hopefully outside. We hope to see lots of you here! 

COMMUNITY STORY TIME

Community Story Time is back on again this term  on Tuesdays. As we don't have a local library in our community, this is an opportunity to bring any children in the area, to listen to a story and complete a fun activity. We have a guest reader this time from Squishy Minnie Bookstore. We hope you can make it!

CARPARK

A reminder for families that students cannot walk through the carpark alone to ensure students safety with cars moving around the area. Please help us in keeping our kids safe and collecting them from the gate or inside the grounds to help them walk safely to the car. 

PARENT OPINION SURVEY

The Parent/Caregiver/Guardian Opinion Survey is open for you to complete. This is a valuable tool for us to monitor community feedback and look for areas of improvement across our school. We encourage all families to complete it, please help us by providing your valuable insight. Please look on Compass for login instructions and information on how to complete the survey. 

DRESS FOR THE WEATHER

Please be mindful of the cold weather when helping your child prepare their uniform for the day. This really supports our sustainable practices by layering up, being warm and minimising the time spent of the heaters blasting. We have some second hand uniform available at the office for a gold coin donation, alternatively you can jump on Edu-Threads to look at the Winter range.
