Paint and Sip Art Show Fundraiser

We recently had 20 marvelous Mums in attendance for another fun night of painting and sipping. There were some impressive artist's in the room who created some beautiful masterpieces. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the night. With lots of positive feedback and requests to do it all again. A big thank you to Fiona from the Happi Project and Michelle for setting up the artroom, Anna for all your help with ticket sales and the beautiful name tags, and to the parents who supported the fundraiser to help purchase a new kiln for our school.

Grade 4's visit the Melbourne Museum 

Grade 4's enjoyed an exciting day of learning and exploration at Melbourne Museum. Students watched Deep Sky at IMAX and explored fascinating galleries, including the Forest Gallery, Dynamic Earth and Our Wondrous Planet Exhibition. It was also their first whole year level trip on the train, which was a great success! 

Grade 6 Learn About Ancient Greek History

Year 6 students recently jumped on a tram into the city to visit the Hellenic Museum to deepen their understanding of Ancient Greek history, culture and storytelling. Students explored authentic artefacts, examined how myths reflected the beliefs and values of Ancient Greece, and discovered the historical context behind many of the characters and events they have been studying in class.  A great day was had by all!

Hooptime News

Junior Hoop Time: 

A select group of grade 4 boys represented Toorak PS at the MSAC Hoop Time where we played basketball against schools from around our area. We won three of our games but unfortunately came short in the semi-final. We were really proud of our effort in coming fourth. Congratulations to Seb, who was our top scorer for the day. A big thank you to our coaches, Tom and Will, and Miss Webb for organising the day. Without their help, this would not have been possible.  Written by Arlo and Seb (4C)

We recently went to Hoop Time at MSAC sports centre. We played other schools in 8 v 8 games and won all three games. The whole girls team worked well together and were all MVPs in different ways. Thank you, Mike and Daniel, for coaching the Toorak team and to Miss Webb for organising the event. It was a really fun day overall! Written by Lucy Q (4C)

Senior Hoop Time:

Last Monday, three teams represented Toorak Primary School in the Senior Hoop Time Competition at Waverley Stadium. The Grade 5 and 6 Girls team had a successful day, winning four out of five games. The Grade 5 boys team had a great day with some close games. Congratulations to the Grade 6 boys team who won all their games including the final. We wish them the best of luck as they progress to the Regional Finals in October. Well done to all our players for their fantastic sportsmanship and effort on the day!

Light's Out - Grade 2 School Sleepover

Last Thursday, Grade 2 students packed their sleeping bag, pj's, tootbrush, school clothes, and their favourite stuffed toy for a sleepover at school. They enjoyed a dinner of Subway and pizza and a movie before popping into bed. The following morning breakfast was served, then it was time to get dressed for school. After roll call, students participated in a Mini Olympics incursion, enjoying a range of activities including relay races, sack races, egg-and-spoon races and balance challenges. It was an early finish for the cohort, with parents collecting their tired, but happy childen at midday.

Book Week Celebrations

Last Wednesday, our students and staff came dressed as their favourite book characters to celebrate Bookweek. The school was buzzing with colour and excitement as parents, children and teachers gathered for the Bookweek activities. The morning began with a gallery walk, where families used a map to visit each classroom to view the Bookweek inspired door displays. Following the gallery walk, students participated in our annual Book Week Parade, showcasing their costumes to their peers and parents. The celebration concluded with the announcement of our year-level costume winners.
