Social and Emotional Learning

Social and Emotional Learning
This term, students will continue engaging in the URStrong program as part of our ongoing commitment to supporting positive relationships and student wellbeing. Through classroom lessons, students will focus on developing healthy friendships and learning how to manage small conflicts in respectful and positive ways. They will continue to practise using respectful, assertive language to express their thoughts and feelings, while building important skills such as resilience, tolerance and cooperation.
On the yard, we have introduced an Outdoor Games Club, which has been warmly embraced by students. Each lunchtime, a range of card games, board games and LEGO are available for students to enjoy together. It has been wonderful to see students, including others, working collaboratively and teaching one another the rules of new games such as Chinese Checkers and Chess. These shared experiences provide valuable opportunities to strengthen friendships, practise social skills and foster a strong sense of belonging within our school community.
SRC Update
The first SRC meeting of the term was enjoyed by all students in attendance. Members worked together to make playdough for our new Games Club and for the Monday playgroup to enjoy, while also discussing the events planned for the term ahead. A clear highlight was the enthusiastic sharing of ideas for our upcoming Friendship Fair Day, which will take place on the last day of the term.
