2026 School Captains

Hi, my name is Addie and I’m one of the school captains for 2026, along with Milla, Harry and Ibby. I’m super excited to have this role because it is something I wanted since I first started here at NLPS. Three things that I'm looking forward to is hosting assemblies, attending the leadership conference and getting to work with the other school captains. A few things about me is that I am an avid reader who can never put a good book down, I also enjoy swimming and lacrosse. If you ever have any worries or concerns you can find me in the yard at lunch or snack and I’ll try to help you. I can’t wait to help out around the school and be the best school captain I can be. Thank you!
I am Harry and I’m incredibly grateful to be one of your school captains for 2026. I am so excited to take on this role and I would like to thank Carly and Mat for giving me the opportunity to be here today. A bit about me: I like basketball, cricket and footy and in my spare time I like to read or listen to music. I would also like to congratulate my fellow school captains, Ibby, Addie and Milla for being true role models anyone can look up to.
My main goal as a school captain is to make everyone feel accepted and included, especially our new Foundation students. If you ever need help with anything, know that you can come to me.
Hello everyone,
My name is Milla and I am proud to be your school captain this year.
Firstly, I would like to thank Carly and Mat for giving me this amazing opportunity. You have made my dreams come true. Ever since I was in prep at my first school assembly, seeing the four people up the front, I knew I wanted a leadership role like that, and here you are reading my school captain speech.
As your school captain, my duty is to be a person that you can always come to if you need someone to talk to. I’m looking forward to having a great year. Thank you and congratulations to the other three school captains.
Hello everyone, Ibrahim Abdo here better known as Ibby. I am so proud to be given the role of School Captain this year. Firstly, I would like to thank Carly, Mat and all my teachers for being extraordinary role models to learn from and for putting their trust in me to bring out the best version of myself. I would also like to congratulate my co-captains, Addie, Milla and Harry, I just know we are going to make a great team!
Ever since I walked into these school gates in 2020 and sat down for my first ever school assembly, I have always been inspired to one day be up there leading the school. I will make sure to apply all our school values in bringing positive leadership to represent Newport Lakes and help bring out the leaders in all of you because, as Carly said at last week's assembly, even without the official title of Captain, you are all still capable of being one, as we all play an important part in making school a happy place for everyone. I look forward to an exciting year ahead. 2026, let's go!
