Junior School

Opening Mass
As a Catholic School in the Edmund Rice tradition, we value the occasions where we gather as a Junior School community in the presence of God. Our Junior School Opening mass last Friday provided a wonderful opportunity for us to celebrate the return to school and look forward to the year ahead with optimism and hope.
My thanks are extended to the boys who contributed to the successful running of Mass. To the readers for the confident way in which they presented themselves. A special mention to our four Alter Servers who assisted with Mass for the first time. You certainly did a wonderful job, boys.
To the staff involved behind the scenes, Holly Allen, David Penco and Rosa West for the time and energy you placed into preparing the hymns and readings. Additionally, Fr. Oscar ensured all members of our community felt welcomed.
It was great to see so many parents and guests in attendance. Your ongoing support of your son and the Junior School is appreciated.
Swimming Carnival
On Tuesday, 11 February in unusually mild conditions for February, we saw outstanding displays of athleticism, resilience, perseverance, and sportsmanship at our House Swimming Carnival. It was a pleasure to witness all the boys pushing themselves to do their best on the day.
A big thank you to Mr. Luke Thompson for all his preparation in ensuring all students had an opportunity to participate in an inclusive manner throughout the day. Our House Captains were also extremely helpful on the day, ensuring all the boys knew when their race was and keeping the spirit high. The results and champions from the carnival are below. Camp Craft
Thursday afternoon marked the second session of our Camp Craft program with Mr. Quin. This term-long program provides hands-on learning in outdoor skills and teamwork.
Participants in Camp Craft will:
• Learn how to set up and pack away a Three-Man tent, gaining knowledge about tent features and setup techniques
• Practice fire setting and lighting, cooking simple meals like 2-minute noodles, and learn about UHF communications.
During Thursday's session, students worked in groups of three to set up tents, applying the skills they learned in the first session. They had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
