Library and Information Week 28/7-3/8 "To read or not to read"

The Library ran a student competition during the week, asking students to create words from a 16 letter boggle, which earned raffle tickets for 2x$40 Highpoint vouchers. 3/4 letter words= 1 ticket, 5/6=2 , 7/8 =3, 9+=4 tickets. Our winners were Riya Ramasre and Amani Al Hussani. Teachers also created words from the same letters with Mr Cutajar winning a box of chocolates. Staff were treated to a morning tea and a display of books from the library, that could help them complete the current Dymocks reading challenge. Well done to all, I was amazed by the range of words that students found, without referring to electronic devices!

Games week at Delahey Library

After two weeks of students studying for exams and the change to semester accompanied by very cold weather, its an opportunity to have some light relief. Strategic board games were on offer for the first break with a chance for students to have a little down time. Most popular were the Rubrik race and Exploding kittens. Our participants also had the chance of winning a prize. Lucky winners for a $20 Highpoint voucher were Xuan Vu Nguyen, Brian Nguyen, Simarjot Kaur and Helen Nguyen.

Sydenham Library

Sydenham library is a vibrant and pleasant place to be during breaktimes, especially on cold days. Students can read, study, play card games, use the Maker Space materials or chat with their classmates. Clubs are often run and friendships made in this warm environment.

The Premiers’ Reading Challenge is nearing the end. 45% have completed the challenge and moved all the way around the Bookopoly board.

Only 15 days to go so get your books into the website!

If you need any help, Ms Ireland and Ms Jeffery are in the library each breaktime and also before and after school.
