SPORT- Mrs Burt

YEAR 5 AND 6 2 X 1 SPORTS

Our Year 6 students have been participating in the 2 x 1 Sports program. This is program that introduces students to a variety of recreational activities within the Frankston area. Students were able to select from 6 different activities - Indoor Rockclimbing (Bayside Rock), Tenpin Bowling (Zone Bowling), Fitness Circuit (Input Fitness), Indoor Cricket (Frankston Indoor Sports), Tennis (Langwarrin Tennis Club) and Golf (Centenary Golf Club).

 

From these activities, the students participated in one activity on the 21st November and their 2nd activity last Friday. They all thoroughly enjoyed their activities. The Year 5's will be experiencing the same program today.

 

 

YEAR 6 MELBOURNE CABLE PARK

To celebrate Year 6 students completing the Year 5 and 6 Water Safety program, on Tuesday 86 students attended Melbourne Cable Park. In the morning session, students could choose to do either Mini Golf or the High Ropes Course. In the afternoon, all students had an exhausting hour on the Aqua Fun Park; and it is can "Fun Park" for a reason. Students and staff had a great time, manoeuvering through the inflatable obstacles.

 

SWIMMING SPORTS

Yesterday, it was wonderful to see are Year 3 students participating in the House Swimming Sports - having fun, being active and developing a great House spirit by competing for their House. Today is the Year 4 Swimming Sports and next Thursday the Year 5's will participate in their last Swimming Sports.

As the school years draws to a close, we (Franca and Sue) would like to take this opportunity to thank all the parents who have assisted with the running of the sports programs. We are very fortunate to have a school community who values sport in the curriculum and is happy to give up their time to support all our children to ensure the following programs run effectively: 

 

  • Year 6 Water Safety and Interschool Sport
  • Year 5 Triathlon
  • Junior Sport Carnival
  • House Athletics, Cross Country and Swimming Sports
  • District, Divisional and Regional Swimming, Athletics and Cross Country
  • Year 6 Basketball

 

Thank you also to the parents who have assisted with the transport of students to many of the sporting venues.
