Reminders

Parking for Our Christmas Sing-Along
As we look forward to our Christmas Sing-Along, we’d like to remind families about parking and safety around Langwarrin Park Primary School. Our school is in a busy neighbourhood, and this event continues to grow into a wonderful community celebration. To help make the evening smooth and enjoyable for students, families, and our local community, please keep the following in mind:
- King Swim parking is strictly for King Swim patrons with Swimming Lessons during this time period.
- Staff car parks are reserved for staff. Please respect all signage.
- Bus Bay and Kiss & Go areas will be available for event parking after 4:00pm. Please be mindful of visitors who may have mobility difficulties and may need closer parking. If you are able, consider choosing a spot a little further away to keep these spaces accessible for those who need them most.
- Allow extra time to find a park—traffic will be heavy, and spaces fill quickly.
- Walk if you can. A short stroll helps ease congestion and reduces stress.
- Avoid blocking driveways or parking on nature strips. Please be considerate of our neighbours.
- Consider carpooling with other families. Fewer cars make the event safer and calmer.
- Follow all road rules and parking restrictions. Council officers may patrol the area.
- Use designated pedestrian crossings. Safety first—especially with young children.
- Please be mindful of families with mobility needs. Arriving earlier can help secure closer parking for those who need it.
- No dogs are permitted on school grounds.
- No smoking or vaping anywhere on school property.
- No electric bikes or scooters are allowed on school grounds or within event areas.
Remind extended family members of these guidelines before arriving.
Thank you for helping us maintain a safe, respectful, and enjoyable event for everyone. We can’t wait to celebrate with you!
Hats at School- Being SunSmart- September- May
As part of our SunSmart approach and commitment to keeping students safe, all students are asked to wear a hat at school from September to May. Wearing a hat during outdoor activities helps protect against the sun’s harmful UV rays.
Hats can be purchased from PSW, and we encourage all students to have one ready for the term.
Making your school look great Bucket Hat
A Friendly Reminder: Students who do not wear a hat won’t be able to play in areas exposed to full sun, such as the basketball courts or the oval. They will need to stay in shaded play areas during playtimes.

Preservice Teachers and Work Experience Students (secondary school)
At Langwarrin Park Primary School, we highly value and actively support the development of preservice teachers, fostering an environment of growth, collaboration, and hands-on learning to prepare them for successful careers in education. We also deeply value our strong relationship with local secondary schools, warmly welcoming back past students for work experience and VET learning opportunities, enriching both their development and our school community.
All preservice teachers and work experience students are given a thorough induction where our ‘Child Safety and Wellbeing Policy’ and ‘Child Safe Code of Conduct’ are explained and a copy of both is given for their own records. Both preservice and work experience students are then required to sign and hand in the ‘Child Safe Code of Conduct’. Our ‘Child Safe Code of Conduct’ outlines the expected behaviour for anyone interacting with children and young people at our school, including preservice and work experience students, and they are required to adhere to this Code of Conduct. Any breeches to the code of conduct are immediately investigated and dealt with in accordance with the policy.
Parking and Access Around LPPS
We have received concerns from neighbouring residents regarding unsafe behaviours around the school. These include children running onto the road and parents stopping to unpack bags in the middle of the street. As a community, we all share the responsibility of keeping students safe.
LPPS is bordered by several streets that provide multiple parking options. Please read the following carefully to ensure you are parking legally and prioritising the safety of our students.
Approved Parking Areas
- North Gateway (Front of School): Includes a Kiss and Go zone for quick drop-offs. Additional parking is available further down the hill.
- Jackson Drive: Parking is available with access to the school via a gate.
- Green Laneways (Rear of Oval):
- To the right of the oval, a laneway connects to Burgess Drive with ample parking.
- Going straight from the back of the oval leads to laneways connected to surrounding courts.
- On-Site School Parking:
- Straight ahead inside the main gates is strictly for staff and King Swim patrons only between 8:00 am – 5:00 pm.
- To the right inside the gates is designated for families attending swim school lessons.
Important Reminders
- Council parking officers patrol the area regularly.
- Observe all parking signs and time limits carefully—some areas are strictly Kiss and Go.
- Always check signage in surrounding courts before leaving your vehicle.
Student Safety Comes First
- Double parking is illegal and creates unsafe conditions.
- Do not call students across traffic or allow them to exit vehicles in the middle of the road.
- Children must always enter and exit vehicles from the kerbside. If seated on the opposite side, please assist them safely or adjust seating arrangements.
We appreciate your support in keeping our students and community safe.
Thank you for supporting a safe and respectful environment for our school community.
