Reconciliation Celebrations:
A big congratulations to those students who celebrated their Reconciliation on Tuesday the 9th of June; Jude Downard, Luna Lamana, Logan Marriner, Matilda Betts, Albert Hanlon and Elisha Brielle Chua Cheng. These students prepared for this sacrament at home with their families, learning about how we make amends to those that we have hurt, actions we might take to make amends and then about how we are given forgiveness by others and God when we are truly sorry for what we have done. During the celebration, Fr. Andrew used the parable of the lost sheep to explain to the children about how immense God’s love is for each of us, the children then chatted with their parents to help ‘examine their conscience’ and they then each spent time individually with Fr. Andrew to receive their Penance. The Rite of Reconciliation or Penance needs to be celebrated before students participate in the sacraments of Eucharist and Confirmation.
- If I’ve missed acknowledging anyone (I don’t receive the names of those who are celebrating), can you please email me with the student’s name and if you took any photos at Reconciliation and I’ll acknowledge in the next newsletter. Thanks.
