Principal's Update

Dear Parents and Carers,
I hope you had a relaxing long weekend and enjoyed the long awaited, much needed rainfall last week. We hope and pray that this provides some relief for our farming community.
On Sunday, we celebrated the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ, traditionally known as Corpus Christi.
This feast day is a beautiful reminder of the ultimate gift of love Jesus gives us in the Eucharist. Just as food and drink nourish our bodies, the Eucharist strengthens our souls, gives us peace, and brings us closer together.
As a school community, we are called to be the "Body of Christ" in our everyday world. When we show kindness to a classmate, offer a helping hand, or forgive someone, we make Christ’s love tangible. This feast day reminds us to thank God for always being present with us, and to carry His love out of the church and into our classrooms, playgrounds, and homes.
Dear Lord,
Thank you for the wonderful gift of the Eucharist, which reminds us of Your deep and endless love for each of us.
As we celebrate this special feast day, nourish our hearts with Your grace. Help our school community to grow stronger in faith and unity. Guide us to be Your hands and feet in the world today. Teach us to share Your love, kindness, and peace with everyone we meet, especially those who are lonely or in need.
We ask this in Your holy name.
Amen.
Learning Conversations
A reminder to all families to book their times for Learning Conversations being held on the 23rd and 24th of June. Bookings can be made on PAM. It is an expectation that all families will attend the Learning Conversations, as they are a major part of the holistic approach that St. Mary’s has towards the reporting process.
Swimming P-2 Program
A reminder to all parents that our P-2 swimming program commences in the second week of next term. The children will go every Thursday from the 23rd July to 3rd September. Please look on PAM to give permission for your child to participate. If you do not wish for your child to participate, can you let the office and classroom teachers know ASAP, as we have to finalise numbers before the end of term.
First Reconciliation
We extend our warmest congratulations to the Grade 2 children in our school community who celebrated the Sacrament of First Reconciliation on Tuesday evening.
This special step in their faith journey is a beautiful reminder of God’s endless love, mercy, and forgiveness. We are incredibly proud of the maturity and reverence they showed while preparing for and receiving this sacrament.
A big thank you to our teachers, families and Fr Andrew for guiding and supporting them along the way. Please keep these children in your prayers.
Calvert St. Crossing
We have noticed that a number of children are being picked up in Calvert St at the end of the day. While this is a viable option, it is very important that children and parents cross at the crossing should their car be parked on the opposite side of the road. This rule applies no matter where it is you are parked. Walking that extra few metres to the crossing ensures the safety of everyone in a very busy street at the end of the school day. A reminder also that the speed limit is 40km.
Enjoy the rest of your week.
