Year 1 Excursion to the Nangak Tamboree Wildlife Sanctuary

The Year 1s had a wonderful time exploring the Nangak Tamboree Wildlife Sanctuary as part of our unit on minibeasts. From the moment we stepped off the bus and were greeted by a bounding kangaroo, the adventure began.
Students loved sifting through pond water with pipettes to discover tiny creatures up close, and wandering through the sanctuary to spot all sorts of native wildlife. Along the way, we saw wood ducks, emus, and even a sleepy ringtail possum nestled in the trees.
The excellent guides and educators shared their deep knowledge of the sanctuary, teaching us all about the lifecycles of frogs and dragonflies as well as the habitats of the animals we encountered.
It was a day full of discovery, curiosity, and excitement, an experience our Year 1s will remember!
