Weekly Values Focus - Responsibility

Week 5: Footscray West students are great role models
At our school, we understand that being a role model is a responsibility. It means showing others the right way to act through our choices and actions. We are role models in our classrooms, in the playground, and around the school every day. You do not need a badge or a leadership position to be a role model, everyone has the responsibility and the power to set a positive example.
We show this by being honest, respectful, and caring in everything we do. We follow school expectations, use kind and respectful language, and support others when they need help. Sometimes, being a role model means doing the right thing even when others are not, such as lining up quietly, including others in games, or keeping our hands and feet to ourselves. When we demonstrate these behaviours, we help others learn what respectful behaviour looks like.
This week, think about how you can be a role model in your classroom and the yard. Could you show kindness to a friend? Could you demonstrate respect during learning time? Could you make choices that encourage others to do the same? Remember, the way you act can positively influence those around you.
