Sport – diving success

Congratulations to Year 6 student Hanna, who proudly represented Team Victoria at the School Sport Australia Games held in Melbourne last week.

The School Sport Australia Games brought together some of the country's best young athletes to compete across a wide range of sports, including Aussie Rules football, netball, volleyball, hockey, basketball, soccer, swimming and diving. This year's event also welcomed competitors from Fiji and New Zealand, making it an exciting international competition.

Over five days, Hanna competed in multiple diving events and delivered an outstanding performance for Team Victoria! She won silver in the 5-metre platform, earning Team Victoria Diving's first medal of the Games.

Her success continued throughout the week with another silver medal in the knockout event and a bronze medal in the springboard competition. On the final day, Hanna and her synchronised diving partner came heartbreakingly close to gold, finishing with a fantastic silver medal, missing first place by just a single point.

While the week was physically demanding, it was also an unforgettable experience. Hanna not only achieved outstanding results but also made new friendships and represented both Team Victoria and Port Melbourne Primary School with determination, resilience and sportsmanship.

Congratulations, Hanna, on an incredible achievement. We are so proud of everything you have accomplished and can't wait to see what you achieve next!
