A Message from Keir and Emma

Three Way Conferences
As you may have heard, the AEU (Australian Education Union) Victorian Branch has proposed 24 hours of industrial strike action on Thursday 23rd July (this Thursday) and this was the same date as our scheduled Three Way Conferences.
As yet, we have no firm details about whether or not the strike will go ahead, or the impact that it might have at BNWPS. This information will not become available until later in the week.
BNWPS staff see great value in the Three Way Conferences, and would like to ensure that they go ahead. After consultation with BNWPS School Council, we have decided to reschedule the Three Way Conferences to Thursday 6th August.
We understand that this may be an inconvenience to some families, but hope that you see the value in ensuring that the opportunity to talk about student goals and growth is made available and accessible.
In summary -
Thursday 24th July - Normal school day (with the high possibility of significant impact by the proposed strike action)
Thursday 6th August - Three Way Conferences. Students are only required to attend school at the time of their conferences, and all students are expected to attend their conference. Normal timetables/classes will not run. All day OSHC will be available for those families who require supervision support. Students accessing OSHC must be enrolled in the program.
This afternoon, we will open a new booking portal so that parents/carers can book conferences for the 6th August. Families will receive a Sentral alert when this portal has been opened. We apologise that we are not able to carry bookings over from one date to another, and ask that all families rebook their conference/s.
If you have any questions about these altered arrangements, please do not hesitate to contact your child’s class teacher or a member of leadership.
Whole School Sports Day
We are very much looking forward to our annual whole school sports day which will be taking place this Wednesday (22nd July) All of our students will rotate through a wide range of track and field activities that have been carefully planned by Martin, our PE teacher. The day will take place at Harold Stevens Athletic Track in Coburg. We would love to see as many parents/carers and community members as possible come along to support this day. If you are coming along to support or to assist, you will need a valid working with children check, and you will need to obtain and wear a wrist band. You can collect your wrist band at the front office in the lead up to the day, or, on the day you can show a copy of your WWCC to Emma or Keir and obtain the wrist band on the day.
Enrolments For Foundation 2027
We are now accepting enrolments for Foundation 2027. If you are (or someone you know is!) intending to enroll your child at BNWPS next year, please make sure you have submitted your enrollment form to the front office. It may seem early in the year, but this timeline is required to help us with workforce planning. Please speak to a member of Leadership or the front Office if you would like an enrolment form.
