We are looking forward to welcoming our school community next week to our Book Fair and Grandparents & Special Friends Morning. We invite all families to join us as we celebrate the joy of reading and spend time together in our classrooms.
Book Fair
Tuesday 11th August – Friday 14th August
Dress Up Day & Grandparents / Special Friends Morning
Thursday 13th August | 9:00am – 10:45am

Parent/carer-teacher-student conferences will be held on Tuesday 18th August and Thursday 20th August, providing an opportunity for students, parents/carers and teachers to come together to celebrate learning, discuss progress and set future learning goals. Students will take the lead in sharing their learning journey and showcasing work they are proud of, with teachers facilitating the discussion. There will also be an opportunity for parents/carers to speak privately with the teacher about their child's progress if they wish.
Conference bookings can be made via Compass. If you experience any difficulties making a booking through Compass, please contact the school office on 5221 4047 and we will be happy to assist.
Students in Prep G will have their Parent/carer-teacher-student conferences on Tuesday 1st September and Thursday 3rd September, as Miss Gillett will be away on the scheduled conference dates.
Students who have SSG meetings will not be required to attend the Parent/carer-teacher-student conferences.
For families with more than one child at South Geelong Primary School, we encourage you to avoid booking conferences in back-to-back timeslots. Allowing a short gap between appointments will help ensure you can move between classrooms without delaying the conference schedule.
We encourage all families to book a conference and look forward to celebrating your child's achievements together.
Our Prep–2 students will begin their gymnastics program next Friday, 14th August. This is a fantastic opportunity for students to develop their balance, coordination, strength and confidence through a range of fun and engaging activities.
If you would like your child to participate, please ensure you have provided consent via Compass before the first session.
The safety of our students, families and community is our highest priority, particularly during the busy drop-off and pick-up times before and after school.
We understand that these times can be challenging and we appreciate everyone's patience. However, we ask all drivers to follow the road rules and school parking restrictions, including avoiding double parking and obeying all signage. Double parking creates congestion, reduces visibility for pedestrians and other drivers and increases the risk of an accident when students are arriving at or leaving school.
Please allow a little extra time when dropping off or collecting your child, park safely in designated areas and take extra care around students and families moving around the school. By working together and making student safety our priority, we can help ensure everyone arrives at and leaves school safely.
