Band and Strings Recruiting for 2027 – Year 1 and Year 3 Students

The first Information evening for parents and children interested in the Strings and Band program of 2027 is Tuesday the 25th of August, 6pm.  Please put this date in your calendar and come along to hear about our amazing programs and how your child can get involved.

Redlands Eisteddfod 

All of our year 6 string players and 3 groups of year 5 string players and Chamber Strings participated in the Redlands Eisteddfod on Monday night.  They played in a variety of sections and represented our school beautifully on the night.  They should all be very proud as they all the small groups all performed without a conductor and did a great job.   

Year 6 group – Mozart’s – 1st Place in A Grade Primary School Group Section 

Year 6 Group – Bach’s – 1st Place in B Grade, Small Group Primary Section 

Year 5 Group – Holst’s – 3rd Place in B Grade, Small Group Primary Section 

Year 6 Group – Beethoven’s – Encouragement Award in B Grade, Small Group Primary Section 

Year 5 Group – Schubert’s – 2nd Place in B Grade, Small Group Primary Section 

Year 5 Group – Vivaldi’s – 1st Place in Novice Chamber Music Section Primary 

Chamber Strings – First Place – A Grade Primary Large Group Section 

Music - Choirs

Please take note of the following upcoming choir dates and add them to your calendars:

Monday, 24 August

Year 5/6 Choir only will attend SingFest.

Tuesday–Thursday, 20–22 October

A maximum of six Year 6 singers will be selected to represent Ironside State School at the Metro Choral Honours Program. Letters regarding this event will be sent home before the end of Term 2.

As members of our choir program, students represent Ironside State School whenever they perform, and we greatly appreciate your support in ensuring students are available and prepared for these important events.
