On Monday, our year 3’s and 4’s headed to the State Basketball Centre to compete in Hooptime.  Croydon Hills had 17 teams across all of the categories, Rookies, Future Stars and All Stars. The kids had a great day competing against other schools from the eastern region. Congratulations to our Mixed All Stars team and our Girls Future Stars on winning their category. Big thanks to all the parents who came along to help coach, score or team manage. Without your help, these days would not be possible. Another big thank you to David Bouris and Maddi Wilson for organising the event!

Prep-2 House Cross Country:

The Prep – 2 House Cross Country is coming up early in Term 4 (Wednesday 28th October, Week 4). It has been wonderful to see so many students attending Running Club to help increase their fitness and prepare themselves for the distance. In order for this event to run smoothly, we require the help of volunteers to assist with course checkpoints, handing out finishing tags, lining students up etc. If you are able to assist for the morning, please email laura.yorke@education.vic.gov.au. please note: I will be on Long Service Leave week 9 & 10.

A compass event will be posted early next term for families to consent to.

Year 3 Bike Ed:

An exciting program begins next term for the year 3’s, which is Bike Ed. A compass event will be sent out to families with further information but can we please ask parents to check your child’s bike and helmet to make sure it is safe to wear and ride. We do have a set of school bikes and helmets to assist with those who may not have a bike. Can you please notify your classroom teacher if your child will require the use of a school bike and/or helmet. We hope you are able to find some time over the holidays to ride your bike ready, for our first practical lesson in week 2. This will help build confidence in your child as the main focus of the program is about education and road safety rather than the teachers, teaching students how to ride a bike. We would greatly appreciate your support with preparing your child in being able to ride a pedal bike without training wheels.
