You Can Count on God

At Monday's Assembly, we shared a thoughtful devotion from Max Lucado's You Can Count on God, based on Philippians 4:4-8. The message acknowledged something we all experience, both children and adults: worry. Whether it is friendships, schoolwork, family concerns, or the many uncertainties of life, worries can feel like a heavy backpack that we carry each day. 

Max Lucado encourages us to remember the simple acronym C.A.L.M.:

• Celebrate God's goodness

• Ask God for help through prayer

• Leave our worries with Him

• Meditate on things that are good and worthy of praise

This message is a wonderful reminder that God does not ask us to carry our burdens alone. When we choose gratitude, prayer, trust, and positive, godly thinking, we make room for God's peace to fill our hearts and minds. As Philippians reminds us, His peace is greater than we can fully understand. 

Continue this conversation at home by asking your child about the C.A.L.M. strategy. Talking together about any worries they may be carrying can help reinforce the truth that God cares deeply for us and invites us to bring every concern to Him.

National Science Week Assembly

We are excited to invite our DCS families to our Primary Science Week Assembly on Monday 17th August from 8:30am-9:00am in the Jiloa Centre, where our creative scientist Ms Rebekah Shurley will put on the white lab coat and present us with this year’s experiment. Expect the unravelling of scientific wonder!

It is an assembly not to be missed, so please come along and join in the fun!
