Term 3 Celebration of Learning

Foundation | Biological Science We explored the world of living things and discovered what they need to survive - like food, water, air and shelter. We looked closely at plants and animals, watched how they grew and changed, and learnt how to tell if something was alive or not. | FA: Rm 9 FB: Rm 11 | Come celebrate our students’ creativity at the Animal Habitat Diorama Gallery Walk! Families will explore student-made dioramas, hear short presentations, and complete a written reflection. |
| Year 1 | Push & Pull | 1A - Rm 12 1B - Rm 15 1C - Rm 14 | You are warmly invited to join us for our Year 1 Science Celebration, where students will showcase their learning about pushes and pulls through a range of fun, hands-on activities. We would love for you to come along, explore the activities with your child and celebrate their learning with us!

Year 2
| Our Place in Space We were learning to identify the solar system and its elements. We explored how the Sun, Moon, Planets and Weather show patterns that help us look after Earth.

| Year 4 | Physical Science We are learning to collaborate using our materials and forces knowledge to design and build a protective structure that can prevent an egg from breaking when dropped from a height. | Near our classrooms: 4A - Rm 19 4B - Rm 18 4C - Rm 23
| The Year 4 students invite their families to join in their 'Egg Drop' design challenge. After planning, designing and building a suitable protective structure using our knowledge of materials and forces, students invite their families to view the testing of our designs. It's sure to be an 'eggciting' session!

| Year 5 | Earth Science Changes of the Earth's surface
| 5A - Rm 5 5C- Rm 7 | Parents and families are invited to join our Year 5 students for an Earth Sciences celebration of learning.. Students will share their knowledge about natural disasters and explore how these events can change the Earth’s surface. We look forward to sharing their learning with you! |
| Year 6 | Physical Science We are learning to collaborate using our knowledge of electricity and circuits to design, build and test electrical circuits, and create a diorama that demonstrates our understanding of how electrical energy can be transferred and used. | 6A- Rm 4 6B- Rm 3 6C- Rm 1 | Parents and families are invited to join our Year 6 students for a Science Celebration of Learning. Students will share their knowledge of electricity and circuits and proudly showcase their dioramas. We look forward to celebrating and sharing their learning with you!

Sports Colours Day
Friday, 18th of September (last day of Term 3)

Last day of Term 3
The last day of term 3 is on Friday the 18th of September. Students will be dismissed at 2:30pm. (Please make arrangements with Kelly Club if you can not pick up your child/ren at this earlier time.)
Term 4 will begin on Monday the 5th of October.
School Hats
As of Tuesday the 1st of September, students must wear a school hat while outdoors during recess, lunch and PE sessions. Students who do not have a hat, will need to sit in the No Hat NO Play shady area. School hats are available from the uniform shop. Please ensure your child's name is clearly written on their.
Students must wear a school broadbrimmed or legionnaires hat. Plain navy blue broadbrimmed or legionnaire hats are also allowed. No other caps, visors, hats will be allowed.

Zooper Dooper Sales
JSC has decided to stop selling Zooper Doopers due to the colder weather. If nicer weather is predicted during the term, a compass message will be sent out to let students know that JSC be selling Zooper Doopers on that particular day.
