New - Badminton Competition - St Mary’s Shines!
Last week, 14 of our talented Grade 5/6 students had the exciting opportunity to represent St Mary’s at the interschool Badminton competition. It was a day filled with energy, enthusiasm, and a whole lot of shuttle-smashing action! Our students showed wonderful sportsmanship, encouraged one another, and played their hearts out across three different divisions.
In Division 1, the boys faced some extremely tough competition right from the start. They held their heads high, played with determination, and demonstrated great resilience in every match. Their efforts were rewarded with a brilliant 3rd place finish! Well done, boys – we are so proud of the way you represented our school.
The Division 2 girls were just as inspiring to watch. They worked together beautifully as a team, never giving up and always supporting one another. Their hard-fought matches had plenty of nail-biting rallies, and their persistence and teamwork helped them secure another fantastic 3rd place. Congratulations, girls – what an outstanding achievement!
Our Division 3 team showed the true spirit of improvement and perseverance throughout the day. With every game, their confidence and teamwork grew stronger, and by the end they were playing some of their best badminton yet. In the final for 3rd and 4th place, they were incredibly unlucky to go down by only a few points. Although they just missed out on a medal, they should be very proud of how much they improved and the way they played as a united team.
A huge congratulations to all of our students for giving their very best and representing St Mary’s with such pride, sportsmanship, and enthusiasm. You all did our school proud!
Finally, a very special thank you to Cason Sports, whose generous donation of a full class set of rackets and shuttles made our participation in this event possible. We are so grateful for their support in helping our students experience such a wonderful sporting opportunity.
What a fantastic day for St Mary’s – full of fun, teamwork, and achievement!
