We are excited to announce that our annual St Mary’s Mooroopna School Athletics Day will be held on Monday 1st September, from 9:00am to 3:00pm at the Shepparton Athletics Track.

This fun-filled day is a wonderful opportunity for students to showcase their skills, cheer on their peers, and enjoy some friendly house competition. Students are encouraged to wear their house colours proudly, adding to the vibrant and supportive atmosphere of the day.

A variety of events will be held, including the 100m sprint, long jump, high jump, hurdles, and distance running, along with a selection of novelty events to keep the energy high and the smiles wide.

We warmly invite families and friends to come along and support our students as they give their best effort and display great sportsmanship. Let’s make it a day of fun, encouragement, and celebration of our school spirit!

New - Wednesday Afternoon 5/6 Winter Sports

5/6’s have been enjoying participating in sports on Wednesday afternoons over the last few weeks! The focus of these games is sportsmanship and having a go at sports and skills that might be new or different! It has been great to see our students helping eachother out and also helping students from other schools. Letting our light shine!

We are looking forward to another couple of weeks of these sessions!

New - 'Bullying No Way' Week

The theme for this year’s ’Bullying No Way National Week of Action’ is ‘Be Bold. Be Kind. Speak Up’.

This week, the 5/6’s participated in a webinar on Monday from the Kids Help Line all about Bullying and today they made some posters to explain this year’s theme!

Bingo Help Needed

St Mary's Parish are most grateful the wonderful people who have been able to volunteer their time and for their efforts to help keep our Bingo running.

With this help and Bingo having good numbers most weeks over the past three months, this has resulted in the committee being able to pass on $3000 to both the School and the Parish. These donations have been most appreciated and will be put to good use within the school and the Parish.

For these monetary contributions to continue we are calling out for anyone that has some spare time on a Saturday evening and able to help out for a minimum of between 1 - 4 hours to contact Maree on 0438084364.

Foodshare

Recently, St Mary's School has become an agent for Foodshare. We are able to assist with some food items for families in the Mooroopna area. We have prepacked frozen meals that are great for people who are ill. We are also able to provide some food supplies. Each week we receive a selection of groceries, fruits and vegetables. If you need support please reach out to Gary Woodward or Liz Turk via the school office - 5825285.
