We have had a positive start to the term, with the 2025 School Captains passing on the mantle of leadership to the 2026 School Captains during our End of Year Mass last week. It is always an honour to work with young leaders and to be involved in their leadership development. Our 2026 School Captains and Faith and Mission Captains will travel to MacKillop Catholic Regional College in Werribee on 7 November to participate in the AJASS Leadership Program. This opportunity is extended to student leaders from all Josephite secondary schools across Victoria and Tasmania.

I am also pleased with the number of Year 10 and 11 students who have applied for House Captain and Committee Captain positions. The House Captain speeches have been delivered, and interviews for House and Committee roles are currently underway. Further details of the student leadership team will be shared in our next newsletter.

On Tuesday, 28 October, our Year 12 students commenced their VCAA examinations, with most completing the English exam. The exams will continue over the next two weeks, after which we will celebrate the Graduation Mass and Dinner on Friday, 21 November. Members of the community are warmly invited to attend the Graduation Mass at 6:00pm at St Mary’s Church in Swan Hill. The Graduation Dinner will follow at 7:00pm, for students, their invited guests, and staff.

Please keep the students in your thoughts and prayers during this busy and sometimes stressful period.

We have an active month of camps ahead, beginning with our first Year 8 group in Portland this week. The Year 9 students will depart for Canberra on 11 November, followed by the second Year 8 group in Portland from 18 November. We are hopeful that the lovely spring weather will persist for all our students during these activities.

Kind regards,
