This year, students and staff travelled to Geelong to visit a range of tertiary institutions, including The Gordon (City and East Campuses), Deakin University, and Marcus Oldham Institute. Students enjoyed guided tours and presentations that showcased the diverse study and career opportunities available in Geelong.

A visit to GMHBA Stadium and its museum offered insight into the wide variety of employment pathways within the sporting industry - with over 100 different roles highlighted. The group also explored Torquay and Bells Beach and put their teamwork skills to the test in an exciting ‘escape room’ challenge.

A highlight for many was surfing at Ocean Grove with professional instructors, with the weather holding up just enough to make the experience enjoyable. The meals were fantastic, and the accommodation at Deakin’s Barkly Hall was excellent.

A big thank you to the students for their enthusiasm, teamwork, and respect shown to our hosts throughout the trip. For several students, this was a final school adventure before stepping into the workforce in 2026. Thanks also to Mrs Quaife for joining the group and to Mr Haley for his organisation and leadership.
