LTU Regional Pathways Program Update

Albury-Wodonga Campus

The Regional Pathways Program is a regional initiative that aims to address the disparity in higher education participation and attainment between regional and metropolitan areas. It focuses on increasing educational engagement among senior secondary school students by providing them with workshops on topics such as study skills, literacy support, wellbeing, and career pathways including university.

Vision:

Our goal is to improve educational outcomes for regional students and increase community awareness of the positive impact further education has on local development.

This Week's Workshop

This week marked the final workshop with the 2024 cohort of La Trobe University Regional Pathways Program at Wangaratta High School. The workshop focused on becoming self-aware and some recommended self-care strategies.

The Regional Pathways Program team has had a great time working with the 2024 cohort this year, and wishes them the best of luck for both their trial and final exams!

Tips for Utilising the School Holidays

With the Victorian school holidays about to begin, here are some tips from the Regional Pathways Program team regarding utilising the school holidays time:

  • Read over the VCE Study Design for each of your subjects to see what information could be assessed on the final VCE exams. Study designs are available here: Examination specifications, past examinations and examination reports (vcaa.vic.edu.au)
  • Review notes taken in class from each of your subjects to see where you may have questions – this way you can follow up with your teachers at the beginning of Term 4.
  • Create a schedule that includes time for study and exam preparation, and time for relaxation.
  • When studying, focus on content that you are less confident in. School holidays are the best time to spend some extra time going over this sort of information.

We hope everyone has a safe and fun-filled school holidays!
