Dear Community Members,
The Welcome to Senior School Dinner on Wednesday 11 March at Ninja Stadium was a positive and genuinely fun way for students to mark the next stage of their journey. The traditional walk down the red carpet set the tone, giving everyone a moment to recognise how far they’ve come since Year 7. Inside, the atmosphere was relaxed and upbeat, with students showing an impressive level of behaviour and really enjoying the night together. The evening also marked the beginning of a more focused approach to the years ahead, a reminder that, from here, we plan out their final years together to help them finish well and feel confident about what comes next. Well done to all involved. A bit of rain on the night couldn't keep us down.
It was great to see our Year 12 student Anna Volkman, featured on the front page of the Mercury Newspaper recently. Out of thousands of students, Anna has been selected to attend the CERN-Solvay student camp in Switzerland. Anna will spend a week studying research in particle physics. A future astrophysicist at MacKillop!
A big congratulations to our SATIS team on winning the Co‑Ed Aggregate Shield, an outstanding result and, as I understand it, a first for the College. The addition of our senior students has clearly made a real impact. They set the tone from the start, leading with maturity, determination and a great sense of team spirit. All of our students followed their example, showing admirable commitment and effort throughout what was an extremely hot day. It was a proud moment for the College and a well‑deserved reward for the hard work and attitude shown by everyone involved. A particular shout-out to students who did Mary MacKillop proud, seeing a need (an empty race) and doing something about it (running in it).
