Parent Teacher Interviews

Thank you to all the parents and carers who took the time to attend our recent parent–teacher chats. It was wonderful to see so many families come along and take part in these important conversations.

These meetings are a valuable opportunity to share how students are progressing, celebrate their achievements, and discuss ways we can continue to support their learning. When teachers and families work together and set aligned goals, it helps provide students with clear expectations and consistent support both at school and at home.

We truly appreciate the time you take to partner with us in your child’s learning. Working together makes a real difference in helping our students grow in confidence and reach their potential.

NAPLAN

Next week, students in Years 3 and 5 will be participating in NAPLAN. The national testing window runs from 11–20 March, with our school planning to complete the assessments across the first three days of the window.

NAPLAN provides a snapshot of students’ progress in areas such as reading, writing and numeracy, and we encourage students to approach the tests calmly and simply do their best.

To help students feel prepared and confident, we encourage families to support them with a good night’s sleep, a healthy breakfast, and arriving at school on time during these days. Being well rested and ready to learn can make a big difference in helping students feel settled and focused.

Acts of Kindness

In our classroom we have been talking about the importance of noticing the positive moments in each day. Sometimes a small act of kindness can completely change someone’s day including our own. When we take the time to help others, show gratitude, or simply offer a kind word, we help create a classroom where everyone feels supported and valued.

Below are some of the wonderful acts of kindness we’ve noticed in our classroom recently.

Harley helped a classmate pick up their dominoes when they dropped them. 📚✨
Ebby invited someone to join her group so they wouldn’t feel left out. 🤝😊
Emma shared her pencils with someone who needed one. ✏️💛
Ethan gave encouraging words to a friend who was finding the work tricky. 🌟👏
Tom held the door open for the class as we walked inside. 🚪🙂
Ariella helped tidy the classroom without being asked. 🧹🌈
Hunter checked on a classmate who was feeling a little upset. 💙🤗
Angus shared his ideas to help their group solve a problem. 💡👫
Atti reminded others of our classroom expectations in a kind way. ⭐🙂

Angie waited patiently and showed respect while others were speaking. 👂⭐

Social & Emotional Learning

In our Respectful Relationships lessons are currently exploring Topic 2: Personal and Cultural Strengths. Throughout this unit, students learn to recognise the different strengths, backgrounds and experiences that make each person unique.

We discuss how our culture, interests, talents and experiences all contribute to who we are. Students are encouraged to share aspects of their own identity while also learning to respect and appreciate the differences in others. These conversations help build empathy, inclusion and a strong sense of belonging within our classroom community.
