It’s hard to believe we are already at the end of Week 6. Term 1 at Cowwarr has been full of learning, reconnecting with friends and building strong routines for the year ahead. Our students have been working hard in their classrooms, and it has been wonderful to see them settling into their learning.
Behind the scenes, our staff are also continuing to develop their practice, working together to strengthen teaching and learning so we can best support every student to grow and succeed.
On Thursday we had the opportunity to meet with our students and their families to discuss learning goals, progress and achievements. These conversations are an important part of working together to support each child’s growth, as they allow us to celebrate successes and identify the next steps in learning.
We sincerely thank our families for taking the time to attend and for the ongoing support you show your children and our school. At Cowwarr, we value strong partnerships between home and school because we know that learning is a team effort Together Everyone Achieves More. 🌟
On Thursday 26th February, Cowwarr students headed off to our Cluster Swimming Carnival. It was a fantastic day filled with fun, laughter and plenty of school spirit! Our students loved the opportunity to mix with their cluster peers, take part in a range of activities and enjoy time together in and around the pool.
A huge congratulations to Angus and Julian, who both achieved 1st place in their competitive swimming events, what an outstanding effort! We are very proud of all of our students for the way they participated, supported one another and represented Cowwarr so well.

We love being members of the Gippsland Art Gallery and were very fortunate to have Meg visit our school on Friday for a special art incursion. Our senior students explored different materials such as rocks, wire and foil to create shapes and add colour to their artworks. Meanwhile, our junior students enjoyed experimenting with printing techniques to create their own unique pictures.
It was a fantastic opportunity for students to be creative, explore new materials and learn from a visiting artist. 🎨

From Wednesday 11th March, our Year 3 and Year 5 students will take part in NAPLAN. Over the coming days, students will complete the Writing, Reading, Language Conventions and Numeracy assessments.
At Cowwarr, we encourage our students to approach NAPLAN with confidence and simply try their best. While NAPLAN provides one snapshot of student learning, we know that our students demonstrate many strengths, achievements and growth throughout the year that cannot always be captured in a single test.
We are proud of the effort our students show every day in their learning, and we will continue to support and encourage them to do their very best. Good luck to our Year 3 and Year 5 students.
