Night Library & Homework Centre

Night Library and Homework Centre as in previous years.

Night Library is again running on Thursday afternoons from 4pm to 6pm in the school library. The year groups that can attend include Year 9 through to Year 12.

This will complement the Homework Centre that is being run for Year 7 and 8 in the English rooms from 3pm to 4pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays. These programs are run for students to have access to a quiet space to complete research, assignments and homework, and have access to a teacher to ask for assistance.

There is always an English teacher at the Homework Centre and a Mathematics and English teacher at Night Library. Teachers from other faculty areas may be available at times but not on a roster. Making use of these resources has been a very good study decision for many of our year 12 students from previous years, and those who attended regularly featured prominently in the Band 5 and 6 awards.

We ask that if your student is attending Night Library that they have a plan to get home, especially during winter when it gets dark early. We will endeavour to advertise the times of these programs regularly and give timely notice, via Facebook for parents and, daily notices and a new Night Library Google Classroom for students, if they will not be running.

To gain access to Night Library, students must complete a contract that needs to be signed by a parent/guardian. These contracts can be found with Miss Leamon in the Maths Staffroom or Mrs Day in the English Staffroom.
