Term 1 Reflections

I would like to acknowledge our fantastic staff and students alike for an impressive Term 1. Our Year 11s have settled in beautifully, and our Year 12s have been busy reviewing their individual WACE trackers, working on major projects in trades, reviewing progress in Certificate II and III Agriculture courses and mapping out the 2026 school year, which is bound to go by quickly.

Well done to all students and staff on yesterday's phenomenal Cultural Appreciation and Wellbeing Day. It was a day of learning self-care, resilience, healthy lifestyles and appreciating diversity in our communities. We take pride in fostering a supportive and respectful culture here at the College, and our students should be proud of their engagement on the day.

Cyclone Update

As Cyclone Narelle approaches the mid west coastline, we are finalising preparations through securing our site. We anticipate additional students in residence this weekend to avoid self-driving on the roads Friday afternoon. Boarders will be staying on campus on Saturday, with arts and crafts, movies and various activities planned to be held in the Rec Centre. For parents and students who will be on the roads Friday afternoon - stay safe.

Public School Review

On Thursday of Week 6 we had our Public School Review. Our previous review was in November 2021. The review was a resounding success, with complementary feedback from the reviewers regarding our programs, facilities and opportunities available to our students and their impressive achievements both in school and post-school. Additionally, they noted how mature and engaging our students were on the day. Our next review is scheduled for 2029. Well done to the entire team at Cunderdin Ag.

Student Academic Progress Reports

We are keen to hear from parents about the effectiveness of our recently implemented mid-term Student Academic Progress Updates that were sent out via Compass recently. The intention is to provide all students and families a 'pulse check' on how they are progressing in each course, and to flag any concerns regarding below-anticipated progress early (before formal Interim and Semester Reports are sent home). If you have any feedback on this process (benefits or considerations), please email your thoughts to the College cunderdin.wacoa@education.wa.edu.au

Parent/Teacher Interview Afternoon

We look forward to welcoming parents and opening our Class, Trades and Farm areas on Thursday next week for our Parent/Teacher catch ups. A BBQ will be provided from 12.30pm, with staff available in the Library, Farm Workshop and Trades Workshops to catch up between 1-3pm.

Wishing you all a safe, restful and enjoyable Easter break, and all the very best with seeding.
