Trades

Students have made an excellent start to the year, continuing strong progress on their competencies and on structured and major projects. It has been pleasing to see the quality of work emerging in the workshops, with students demonstrating growing confidence and pride in their craftsmanship.
Everyone has settled quickly into routine, and our Year 12s, in particular, are showing a high level of focus and commitment as they work toward completing their assessments. Their early momentum sets a positive tone for the year ahead.
To help students stay up to date and continue progressing steadily on their projects, we encourage greater use of the after‑school workshop sessions. These sessions provide valuable extra time for students to refine their skills, seek support, and stay on track with their coursework and for the Year 12s to progress further on their personal projects. Year 12 parents, can you check in with your child and ensure they are utilising the available times.
A special mention also goes to our Community Bowls dream team, with myself, Andrew Maddy, Rohan Trevenen, and Annette Wells as the main contributors and Matt Dowell (for the killer punch in the last week of the competition in the absence of Rohan Trevenen), we somehow managed to take out the 2026 competition. Whether it was skill, strategy, or sheer luck (is still up for debate), but we’ll happily claim the victory either way. A great effort all round and a fun way to represent the College in the community!
