Division Tennis

On Friday, a group of our Grade 5-6 girls proudly represented Golden Square Primary School at the Division Tennis Competition held at the Bendigo Regional Tennis Centre.

Competing against strong tennis programs from Girton Grammar, Camp Hill Primary School, Creek Street Christian College, Strathfieldsaye Primary School, Spring Gully Primary School and Kennington Primary School, our students embraced the challenge and competed with determination, resilience and enthusiasm throughout the day.

While the competition was fierce, the most pleasing aspect was the tremendous improvement shown by all players across the tournament. Many of our students were relatively new to tennis and had only recently begun developing their skills. As the day progressed, their confidence grew as they improved their serving, rallying, court positioning and shot selection against quality opposition.

Throughout the competition, our students demonstrated the Golden Square values of Safety, Respect and Learning. They showed respect towards their opponents and officials, encouraged one another between matches and displayed a willingness to listen, learn and continually improve. Their positive attitudes and sportsmanship were a credit to themselves, their families and our school community.

While results are always secondary to participation and growth, every student should be incredibly proud of the effort they displayed and the progress they made throughout the day. We congratulate all of our players on the way they represented Golden Square Primary School and thank them for their commitment, teamwork and determination.
