Our Foundation PJ Party was a night full of fun and a little bit of magic!

The students arrived in their favourite pyjamas and slippers, bringing along their beloved teddies for a special night with their friends.

We enjoyed a yummy Grill’d dinner before a very special visit from Fairy Twinkletoes and her very cute dog, Rufus.

There were lots of smiles and laughs, followed by dancing and a game of musical statues.

To finish off the night, everyone snuggled up with their teddies for a cosy bedtime story. It was so amazing to see our Foundation students enjoying such a special experience together.

Their Pyjama Party was a lovely celebration of how much they have grown, learnt and achieved throughout their first year of school.

Level 1 students have been exploring Dreamtime stories through writing and art.

After reading and discussing The Rainbow Serpent, students wrote a sentence about what they had learnt before creating their own beautiful Rainbow Serpent watercolour paintings. We also explored the Dreamtime story of Bunjil, creating papercraft pictures inspired by this important story.

In Mathematics, we explored the concept of sharing through our popcorn sharing task. Students practised dividing popcorn into equal groups, developing their understanding of fair sharing and equal distribution. We also drew ladybirds on our whiteboards to help us practise sharing equally and explore different ways of making equal groups.

We also had a fantastic time at our silent disco!

Students enjoyed dancing along to the music and listening to their favourite songs, making it a fun and memorable experience for everyone.

To start this term in maths the Level 2 students have been investigating fractions.

They have been looking at how to make a fraction of shapes and also how to show a fraction of a collection. In particular we have focused on ½, ¼ and ⅛.  To help their understanding the students have been drawing shapes to split up, making fraction flowers and even creating their own shapes using playdoh.

The students loved the hands on experience with playdoh and were able to make creative shapes, but still were able to cut them up into equal parts to show their understanding of fractions.

The Level 3’s have had a busy beginning to term 4 with the start of swimming.

This week,  students have been learning about water safety and swimming skills, as well as developing their independence which will be crucial for the upcoming Sovereign Hill camp later this term. It has been wonderful to see the whole level working together to support one another and gaining self confidence.

In Literacy Level Three has been learning about the structure of narratives. Students have been identifying the elements of a narrative, by plotting the characters, setting, rising action, climax and resolution on a plot mountain.

In Mathematics we have been applying learned strategies to real life situations. Students have been applying the additional knowledge to financial contexts by using food menus and catalogues to calculate totals.

Level 4 Swimming Program

Our Level 4 students have been enjoying their swimming program, developing their swimming skills, water confidence and safety awareness.

Throughout the sessions, students have been working on improving their swimming techniques, building endurance and practising important water safety skills. It has been wonderful to see their confidence grow as they challenge themselves, support one another and make the most of this valuable learning opportunity.

Well done, Level 4s!

Level 5

What a busy start to term 4 for our Level 5 students!!

On our first day back, we started our 2027 Leadership program. There were an impressive 37 students who prepared and delivered a speech for our School Captains. The standard of speeches were incredible and we are extremely proud of the way each student wrote and presented them to all Level 4 and 5 students along with current captains and teachers, including Mr Oakey and Mr Zach.

This week, we all divided into our house groups to hear the speeches from the candidates for 2027 House Captains. It takes a great effort for students to stand in front of their peers and teachers to deliver such an important speech and they did an amazing job presenting them. We look forward to hearing the Environment Captains speeches next week, followed by the Arts and Wellbeing Captains.

We wish all students applying for these roles all the best of luck throughout this exciting journey!

Level 6

Our Level 6 students have been putting their mathematical knowledge into action by creating their own images using Excel!

Using their understanding of Cartesian planes and coordinate points, students plotted points to form creative designs and pictures.

This engaging activity allowed students to apply their knowledge of coordinates in a fun and practical way while developing their problem-solving and digital technology skills.
