From Your P&F

We need your help for the biggest term of the year. If you have a son playing sport in Year 6 we would love to see you for just one hour in the Flats or Grandstand canteens, or the coffee van.

Thank to you our volunteers who made it all happen for trial round:

Shandra Kadri, Kylie O’Flynn, Carlie Marks, Richelle Power, Samantha Marsh, Michelle Carr, Prue Maclean, Thomas Craig, Lauren Wiggins, Patricia Turner, Andrew Rumbell, Claire Limerick, Charis, Sarah Real, Colleen Murphy, Letitia Wilkinson and Luisa Brown

Just one hour a term if you have a son playing sport really does make all the difference to keeping this much-valued service open for our Marist and AIC communities. This makes Saturday more manageable for all our home and visiting families, provides directions for many a lost visiting player, covers a not-so-surprising number of ‘ohhhhhhh …. I forgot my water bottle' events, and provides funds in support of school projects.

Don’t forget - Students can also volunteer in the Sports Canteens under the Mates program:

  • Years 11 and 12 can Sign-Up and serve without a parent/guardian
  • Year 5-10 can Sign-Up and serve alongside a parent/guardian
  • Counter service only – no grills, or deep fryer
  • Students need to be in uniform
  • On completion of the shift, students need to register their time using the QR code available in each canteen. (Another volunteer or a member of the canteen staff can access the form if student does not have a phone.)

Grandstand (open while games are playing at Hayden, McMahon for as long as volunteers are available)

Marist Card and Games Day

The P&F will be hosting our next Marist Card & Games Day on Wednesday, 13 May.

The Card & Games Day is a community event held in the Br Cyprian Pavilion where attendees (typically retirees) bring friends to enjoy a day of playing cards (e.g, Bridge), Mahjong, Scrabble or other board games, while savouring morning tea provided by Marist families and lunch provided by the College kitchen.

To make these days a success, the P&F needs parent helpers to assist with baking or supplying items for morning tea and/or attending on the day to set up and serve our guests.

If you can assist with sweet or savoury baked goods (homemade or store bought), they can be dropped off at the Br Cyprian Pavilion from 8:00am (or sent in with your son). Disposable containers are preferred but other containers will be sent back to Student Administration if not collected on the day (please ensure your name is on all containers). Please either pre‑cut items or ensure that they can be cut into bitesize pieces.

Volunteers for the day are needed for the following sessions:

  • 8:00am – 10:30am – setup and serve morning tea
  • 11:30am – 1:30pm – setup and serve lunch
  • 2:00pm – 2:30pm – final clean-up and pack down
  • =

Volunteers are most welcome to assist for all or part of the day.  It is a great way to meet other parents from many different year levels, as well as contributing to an enjoyable day for guests from the community.

If you are able to help by baking/supplying items for morning tea or assisting on the day, please contact Sue Hartfiel (0423 076 603) or Amy Hammon (0416 501 417) at email: CardDayPandF@marash.qld.edu.au.
