Principal Team Update

Dear Parents and Carers,
Welcome back to Term 2! It has been wonderful to see how positively the term has begun, with so many students already demonstrating strong growth since the start of the year. In Week 1, we came together to acknowledge ANZAC Day. Students thoughtfully created poppies which were displayed along the fence, and our School Captains led a respectful and meaningful ANZAC Day service. It was a special opportunity to share this moment with our community.
As we look ahead, we are excited to celebrate Mother’s Day this Sunday. We are looking forward to Mum’s and Special People joining us for the open afternoon this Friday. The Glee Club will be performing at 2:45 outside the hall.
At the end of Term 1, our Prep and Year 6 students celebrated with a lap of the Concourse during the Easter Bonnet Parade. It was a joyful occasion, with many creative bonnets on display. The Easter Bunny’s arrival—via a builder’s wheelbarrow—also marked the conclusion of several important building projects, and we say thank you and farewell to the trades who have contributed to improving our school.
Today, our students are taking part in our whole-school Cross Country event at Dendy Park. A big thank you to Max Pretty and the team for their organisation. It’s always fantastic to see students participating with enthusiasm, supporting one another, and giving their best—truly reflecting our school motto, Play the Game!
At our March School Council meeting, the 2025 Annual Report was presented. This report highlights the many strengths of our school, and we are proud that Beaumaris Primary School exceeded the previous three-year trend, as well as Similar Schools, Network Schools, and the State across all areas. In particular, student growth in Reading and Mathematics has been outstanding, as shown in the table below. The full Annual Report is available here.
Our Year 4 students have also been working closely with Bayside Council on safe travel routes to school. Over the coming weeks, you will notice decals being added to footpaths around Beaumaris to help guide safe and clear pathways. We are very proud of the students’ efforts in bringing this project to life.
Finally, we wish all mums, grandmothers, and special carers a very happy Mother’s Day. We hope you feel celebrated and appreciated.
Warm regards,
David, Grace and Keli
