Child Safety

Our highest priority

Child Safe Standard 6 – Ensuring the Right People Support Our Children

At our school, the safety and wellbeing of every child is our highest priority. Child Safe Standard 6 focuses on ensuring that all adults who work with children are suitable for their roles and are supported to uphold child safety and wellbeing in everything they do.

This means that all staff and volunteers participate in thorough recruitment and screening processes, including Working with Children Checks where required. New staff receive child safety induction training and ongoing professional learning so they understand their responsibilities in protecting children and responding appropriately to concerns.

A recent addition to our child safety practices. All visitors and volunteers are now required to sign in at the school office, agree to our Code of Conduct, and have their Working with Children Check verified in real time. This provides an additional layer of protection for our students and gives families confidence that everyone on site has been appropriately screened and understands our expectations for keeping children safe. We are pleased to introduce this important enhancement to our existing safety measures as part of our ongoing commitment to child safety and wellbeing.

Child safety is not a one-time checklist—it is part of our everyday practice. Through regular supervision, professional conversations and clear expectations, we work together to create a school environment where children are safe, respected and supported to thrive.

We value the important role families play in promoting child safety and encourage parents and carers to speak with us if they have any questions or concerns. By working together, we can ensure our school remains a place where every child feels safe, valued and empowered.

Friendly Reminder for Parent Helpers & Volunteers

Thank you for giving your time to support our excursions, incursions, Farm to Table program, camps and special events. We couldn't offer these wonderful opportunities without you!

To help keep all students safe, please remember:

✅ Hold a current Working with Children Check (WWCC) and have signed our Code of Conduct.

✅ Only pre-approved volunteers may attend school events and excursions.

✅ Toddlers and siblings cannot attend while you are volunteering.

✅ Volunteers are required to stay for the entire event or excursion.

✅ Actively supervise students at all times and minimise mobile phone use.

✅ Report any safety concerns to a staff member immediately.

✅ Students should not go to the toilets alone.

✅ Please do not take photos or videos of students. School staff will capture and share photos when appropriate via the newsletter

✅ Respect the privacy of all students and families by keeping school matters confidential.

Our school community is built on working together to create safe, positive experiences for every child. Thank you again for your generosity, care and support—we truly appreciate all that you do!

Reminder: No school parking is permitted on the yellow-highlighted roads.

  1. Children using the crossing must dismount their bikes prior to using the crossing and walk their bikes across.  School Crossing Supervisors have reported children not adhering to this request from them.
  2. No bouncing balls or running on the crossing.
  3. Children and the school community to adhere to instructions given by the school crossing supervisor to stand behind the safety line and only cross when instructed to do so.  It’s been reported by the public that even staff are at times not following the school crossing rules which does not set a good example for the children.

Driveway and Parking Reminders

Just a friendly reminder that Resurrection School and Parish has three driveways. For safety and traffic flow:

  • Entry 1 and Entry 2 may be used between 9:00am – 3:00pm and after 4:00pm.
  • Entry 3 is not to be used at any time.
  • Please note: Entry 1 and Entry 2 are not to be used for school drop-off or pick-up.

Using the incorrect driveway or carpark is creating a safety risk for our students and must not continue.

The safest place to park is in the designated area next to the oval off Loxwood Avenue.

Thank you for your cooperation in keeping our school community safe.
