Geelong AFLW Visit

Students in Years 3 - 6 were excited to welcome players from the Geelong Football Club AFLW to our school for a special visit this week. The students thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to hear from the players, ask questions about their football journeys, training and experiences in the AFLW, and learn more about what it takes to compete at the elite level.

Students also participated in a fun kick-to-kick session with the players, with many enjoying the chance to practise their football skills alongside professional athletes. The visit was a fantastic experience and provided great inspiration for our students, particularly those passionate about sport and women’s football.

A highlight of the visit was the players presenting the school with a signed guernsey, which is a very special gift that we will proudly display. We sincerely thank the Geelong Football Club AFLW players and staff for taking the time to visit our school and create such a memorable experience for our students.

GWR Cross Country

Junior School

Congratulations to Chloe, Tom and Jemimah for representing our school at the Greater Western Region Cross Country on Tuesday 26th May at Albert Park. Competing against some of the best runners from across a large portion of Victoria, all three students demonstrated outstanding determination, resilience and sportsmanship throughout the day.

Each student ran exceptionally well and should be very proud of their efforts and achievements at such a high level of competition. A special congratulations goes to Chloe, who finished in an incredible 2nd place and has now qualified for the Victorian State Championships in July. This is a fantastic achievement and a reflection of Chloe’s hard work and dedication.

Well done Chloe, Tom and Jemimah on representing our school with pride. We wish Chloe the very best for the upcoming State Championships.

Senior School

We also had senior students recently represent the school at the GWR Cross Country and they did an outstanding job competing against strong competition from across the region. 

All students gave their best effort, showed great determination, and represented the school really well throughout the day. 

A special mention to Charlie P, who ran the 5km course in an impressive 18:30 and has qualified through to the State Finals later this term, a fantastic achievement. Well done to all involved!
