The Class of 1975

50 YEAR REUNION

On 14 and 15 November, SVC old scholars came together to celebrate 50 years since leaving SVC. They met at the Hope and Anchor on the Friday evening along with a group of St Mary’s College students who had shared classes at SVC and SMC.

A number of old scholars had travelled from interstate and the Head Prefect of that year, Paul Nicholls, travelled across the ditch from New Zealand to attend.

A great night was had by all. On Saturday evening they gathered again at the Shipwright Arms for a meal, and once again many stories were shared. A highlight of the evening was Anthony Ackroyd re-delivering the speech that won him national title for Rostrum’s Voice of Youth competition.

Br Bill Wilding was unable to attend but sent his best wishes via a video. It was resolved that we should gather more often.

Many thanks to the organisers - Peter Ball, Michael Johnston, Steve Denniss, Jim Rushton and Paul Boutchard.
