Girls in Civil

 

 

Girls in Civil is a program introduced by Armidale Dumaresq Council and gives female students the opportunity to check out our local Council and gain an understanding of the pathways available.

Travelling to different sites,  instructions of use of equipment and information on what type of jobs are available within Council are some of the duties they undertake. There are currently 6 ASC girls attending the all-day session each Friday to familiarise themselves with employment existing that may be available.

Madison Cooper Yr 10 and Lucy Deiderick Yr 9 all ready to check out Council sites.

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Trainee Technician to join our team who are responsible for the operation, maintenance and configuration of the telemetry, tracking and command (TT&C) equipment at the Uralla Satellite Station, commencing January 2024.

This is a 3 year trainee position, at completion of traineeship you will be a competent SouthPan Operator.

You will be provided with:

Lockheed Martin Australia sponsored tertiary training

Informal on the job training (under supervision)

Supportive working environment

Opportunity to learn from some of the best Satellite Operators

Your duties will included:

Conducting facility maintenance

Support Uralla staff with day to day station activities

Support Tier 1 maintenance on SouthPan

Support Network ILS effort

Provide technical maintenance to Global Navigation Satellite System Reference Station

About you:

To be successful you will need;

An enthusiastic approach to learning new skills, with willingness to learn and upgrade knowledge

Year 12 Certificate with sound results in English and Mathematics

Good problem solving skills with the ability to assist in the resolution of issues using standard procedures

Experience in using Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook or Google docs, Google sheets, Gmail, google slide

Special Requirements

Applicants are required to be Australian Citizens and be eligible to obtain a Government Security clearance.

Employment may be contingent on the satisfactory result of criminal and/or other background screens, which require the collection and transfer of personal information.

The Australian Society for Medical Research (ASMR) invites Years 10 - 12 students to attend their upcoming High Schools Career Day event, which will be held on Wednesday 8th November from 7.30 to 8.30pm AEDT via Zoom.

The goal of this event is to showcase a range of career opportunities in the health and medical research sector to high school students from around Australia. This year they have lined up an exciting array of speakers from research, medicine, academia, biotechnology, and more. The event is free of charge.
