Principal News
Dear Sacred Heart Community
Prayer
Lord God,
help us this day to remember the sacrifice of the first ANZACs, Australian and New Zealander, and the generations of men, women and children who have died in the cause of liberty and peace. Help us to remember those who still bear the physical and mental scars and disabilities of their service.
Amen
A Special Visit
Last week, the creator of the beautiful sculpture in our school foyer, Nick Stella visited our school. Nick's children were all students at Sacred Heart. Nick created the sculpture to honor the Principal at the time, Sr Gabriel Leung. Gabriel was renowned for her care and compassion especially of our vulnerable students and their families. Gabriel was the last Principal of our school Sacred Heart to be a member of the Good Samaritan order of sisters. It has been a priority of mine to take all opportunities to honour the legacy of the Good Samaritan Sisters at our school.
Interschool Sport - Week One
Girls Netball
The team has been performing quite well, everyone played really well in the first round, although I think most of us need time to improve our communication and defending. We only lost by one goal St Gabriel's Eight and Sacred Heart seven. Everyone else had a great time, and I really appreciated how supportive everyone was with their cheering.
There, we made a few friends and they were so kind. I have a feeling that we will make even more friends and that the next game will be even better than the one before. (Harper)
Mixed Netball
In the game the pressure was on!
Everyone tried their hardest especially in the last quarter. The team was going great and the team was ace at defending. I think our team leader (Fortunato) told us to when they get the ball we defend like crazy. Attacking when we got the ball it looked serious! And a big shout out to Fortunato for leading the team and in the end it was the best netball game I've had in two years. We beat St Gabriel's by one goal. (Jacob)
Soccer
It was great fun because every had a go and no one got angry with the results and if a player made a mistake. Overall it was very good. I would like to give a shout out to Roman and Ali because they have really good ball skills. (Connor)
I really enjoyed my experience because I had some flash backs from last year and it really satisfied me that everyone had a go and enjoyed our time there and we did not give up. I am really happy also because we kept our resilience and the respect to our opponents, I would like to give a shout out to Maxi because he stayed strong when he let goals in but also saved us. (Alex)

CDS Victoria
Thank you to those families who continue to bring their recyclable containers to our school. As you can see your participation has raised some valuable funds already.
Manchester City/Parade Soccer Clinics
Parade College presented our Year Four students with their certificates of participation for their involvement in the Manchester City Soccer Clinics last term.
Congratulations Nirav
Our Year Four student Nirav competed in a basket ball tournament in Adelaide over the Easter Break. The tournament called the Adelaide Easter Classic attracts junior teams from around the country. Nirav's team the Darebin Phoenix won the tournament in their age group. We may have a potential Paddy Mills in our midst.
Yours Sincerely
Mark
