Dear Parents and Caregivers

Quality Catholic Education School Review (QCESR)

Thank you to everyone who was involved in the QCESR process last term at St Helena’s.

The Quality Catholic Education School Review (QCESR) provided an opportunity for a panel of external educators to affirm, challenge and report on the school’s improvement journey, including the impact of the leadership team in delivering high-quality Catholic education. The review focused on the effectiveness of the school’s engagement in self-review, the impact of leadership actions, and the future directions identified to further improve student outcomes.

The QCESR was an affirming process for us at St Helena's, highlighting the outstanding work of our staff and the strong partnership we continue to foster with our families in support of all students. The final report also offered recommendations for us to consider as we continue to reflect on our practices and plan for the future.

Thank you to our staff for the dedication and care you show each day in making St Helena’s a wonderful place for our students to pray, learn and play. We also extend our thanks to our parents and caregivers for their ongoing support and partnership.

Lots Happening!

Please take the time to have a read through our newsletter each week. We always have so much information to share with our families to keep you all informed about all that is happening at St Helena's. There is lots shared in this week's School Notices. Also please take the time to read the P&F page further down, as we thank and acknowledge the work of our P&F Committee and all who have supported us lately. Very much appreciated!

First Reconciliation

Congratulations to our Year 3 students and Parish children who had their First Reconciliation recently. A very personal Sacrament and one that was memorable for our students and their families. Thank you to Miss McGovern and Miss O'Callaghan for preparing the students as part of the Parish of St Helena of the Holy Cross and to Miss Myles and Mrs Allen for your support of the Parish Sacrament programs.

Interschool Swimming Team

Congratulations to our Interschool Swimming Team who competed in the 2026 CPSSA B Division Carnival on Friday 1 May. Our students displayed excellent sportsmanship and proudly represented their team and our school. Congratulations to the squad who came 5th overall, which was a brilliant effort and achievement.

Year 6 Camp

Our Year 6 students and staff are currently on Camp at Woodman Point Recreation Camp. Keep them all in our prayers for a safe and enjoyable camp experience. Thank you Miss Bederson, Mrs Thompson, Mrs Allen, Mrs Johnson, Mr McCormack and Mrs Andrews for making yourselves available to go on camp this year.

Let's be Grateful!

At St Helena’s, we are very grateful for the dedication of our staff who consistently go above and beyond in their commitment to supporting our students. From the day to day teaching and learning that takes place, to the supervising of the newly established Homework Club on Monday afternoons, early morning Athletics training on Tuesdays and rehearsing with our Choir on Wednesday afternoons, our staff generously give their time and energy for the benefit of our children each and every day.

We are also thankful for the staff who help keep our traditions alive, particularly all our staff who assisted with the much‑loved Mother’s Day Breakfast last week!

As our Year 6 students head off to camp today, we extend our appreciation to the staff who are willingly spending two nights away from their own families and taking on the responsibility of caring for students around the clock over three full days. Their dedication and generosity of spirit truly reflect the strong community we are blessed to have at St Helena’s Catholic Primary School.

At St Helena's, we are a Christ-centred and a child-focused community,

always striving to do Something Beautiful for God.

Peace & Happy Days!
