Debating

Debating has gone from strength to strength at Story St and Lonsdale this term. Twinkle, Lise, and Samriddhi have taken charge at Story St, leading weekly Debating Club sessions on Tuesdays at lunchtime in 609, with a focus on preparing our younger debaters for the Year 8 interschool debating competition. Our Year 9 debaters followed in the footsteps of last year’s Lonsdale leaders, setting up and running their own lunchtime Debate Club with the support of Mr Williams. Our involvement in the DAV Schools Competition continues this year, with Uni High teams in Year 9, 10, 11 and 12 all notching up at least one win in the opening three rounds of the competition, with some sitting undefeated at the top of the table. Our alumni coach, Spencer O’Connor, has returned to support our teams in the Schools Competition.
