Harmony Day was an absolute joy. Not only were the performances a colourful celebration of diversity, being able to have all our family and friends with us made for a festive afternoon. Our student leaders Minnie Whittle and Lincoln Eagleston did a fantastic job of running the show whilst our students performed and entertained.
A huge thank you to Amy and Donna Duncan who have volunteered their time to carpet clean all of our rugs in the Primary School. This was a massive job and they have come up as good as new. On behalf of the students and teachers we extend our gratitude!
This year our Year 6 students received an amazing opportunity to travel to Sydney to attend the Halogen Leadership conference. This was made possibly by the Rotary Club of Molong who has donated money to offset the costs of excursions. Travelling to this conference is usually only available to the leadership team, however with the Rotary Club’s help all of Year 6 benefited from the experience. The students were spoken to by a number of famous Australians who had all experienced adversity and challenge in some form, only to rise up and seize every opportunity. Our students came home so excited and inspired. The writing they did after the event demonstrates what a powerful experience this was.
Imagine having Jimmy Barnes as your dad, but living with your grandmother in a government paid house. Well that is what it was like for David Campbell. He inspired me by how he had such a terrible life as a kid and now he is on TV and is an author. He would always say “Don’t do what makes other people happy” (Introduction by Lewis Quilty)
“You got the part for the new Giggle and Hoot show”! On the 25/3/21 I went to Sydney and met four amazing leaders but the one who inspired me the most was Jimmy Rees (Giggle) because he’s crazy, lived his dream and was always himself! (Introduction by Cody Brown)
