Like most of us, I’ve loved watching the Olympics on TV recently.  It’s awe inspiring to see what humans are capable of: the speed, the precision, the skill and the strength of the competitors is amazing!  I know that across Lockington, ABH and Wellington Street the students have been similarly inspired each evening.

What’s also remarkable is to imagine the thousands of hours that each of them has invested in honing their skills and pursuing their dreams.  The early mornings, the late nights, the failures that are so essential on the path to success.

While we’re inspired by the seemingly impossible feats of our Olympians, we can emulate them every day by applying ourselves in the same way that they do to prepare for the Games.  At MITS, our students have the opportunity to work hard, apply themselves and set goals – big or small – just as our Olympic idols do: whether it be powering through another lockdown, setting your sights on completing Year 12, or aspiring to achieve the impossible in the years after school.
