Welcome Foundation Parents to BPS (by 2018 Grade 6 Parents)

Welcome to BPS Foundation Families - we hope you and your child(ren) settle into our school and feel at home.  

Thank you to all the Grade 6 parents who helped before, after and during the morning tea and for those whose provided food.

Class Representatives Needed

At the beginning of each year, we require Parent Class Representatives assigned to each class group.

A minimum of one Class Representative is required per class, however sharing the role can enable back up.

We encourage both experienced and inexperienced Parents Representatives to volunteer for this role via the link below. You will be supported by the Parent Representative Coordinator who will be there to provide a guide to the role.

Twilight Picnic / Holi Celebration 2018

Thursday 8th March 5.30pm – 7.30pm

Come and celebrate the start of the school year with a riot of colours as the BPS Community combine the traditional Twilight Picnic with the Indian Festival of Colour, Holi.  There will be Indian Street Food, a BBQ, Indian culture and entertainment and lots of colour.  Keep an eye out for more information in February.

Second Hand Uniform Sale

There will be a SH Uniform sale on Thursday 8th February in the Gymnasium from 8.45am-9.15am

A MESSAGE FROM THE P&F COORDINATOR

Happy New School Year!  It is very exciting to be catching up with everyone again and getting to know the new members of the BPS community.  I would like to welcome those that are new to the school and invite you to consider getting involved in the activities that the P&F run.  Blackburn PS has a vibrant community with quite a number of exciting activities planned for 2018, including the Combined Twilight Picnic/Holi Celebration coming up in early March (see notice for more information).

The P&F operates on fairly casual basis without many formal roles – what on-going roles we have are broken down to as small as we can get so as to reduce the burden on individuals – we operate from the view that many hands makes light work. Otherwise, involvement is generally for a specific event, either as part of the event coordination team or as a volunteer rostered helper. If you would like find out more about the on-going roles or event coordination roles for 2018, please see the section on P&F Planned Activities or come along to our next meeting. Information about helping out with specific events will be advertised in this section in the lead-up to each event.

Our next meeting is planned for Wednesday 21st February at 7.30pm (location tba).  I invite all members of the Blackburn PS to come along - it’s a great way to meet other members of the community, find out about what is happening, and contribute ideas and thoughts about P&F events. I hope to see many of you there!
