BPS District Swimming TEAM 2018

Dear parents and swimmer,

I am now asking for nominations for our District Swimming Team.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

When - Friday 16th February - 10am – 1pm at the Monash Aquatic Centre.

Cost - $8 – to be paid to BPS when you have been selected in our team.

Venue – Monash Aquatic Centre, Waverley Road.

Transport – Parents/families need to transport their child to and from the event.

BPS Swimming trials selection criteria to apply for our Blackburn PS Swimming Team.

1. All swimmers nominating need to be able to competently swim 50m of their nominated stroke (freestyle, breastroke, backstroke or butterfly).
2. Swimmers need to provide accurate times for their two preferred strokes over 50m.
3. Students must be in grade 3-6 in 2018.
4. Students must be turning 9, 10, 11, 12 or 13 in 2018 to nominate.
5. A swimmer may be selected for up to two individual events and up to two relays if numbers permit.
6. Events at the District Swim Off are swum in heats - heats are swum with all swimmers timed. The fastest three swimmers become the placegetters.

What to include in your ‘Nomination letter’ to Miss P.

The club you swim for, your coach’s name, your two preferred events and times for these events, your date of birth, contact number, parent’s signature and email address.

Your nomination letter can be written and given to Miss P or emailed to Miss P by Friday 2nd February.

Blackburn District Swim Off Qualifying Times

There are no swimming trials so our swimmers must qualify at or under the times listed below in order to be considered for selection in the BPS Team. The top two fastest times per age group for boys and girls will represent our school at the District Swim Off.
